Your 2017 Festive Season

South Africa: Traditionally South Africa is a festive, get together and celebratory nation which loves dancing, braaing, and traveling. Every year during December companies close and those who had gone to look for greener postures elsewhere head back home to spend time with families and friends to party, braai and have a great time.

This season is also a time which the whole nation is buzzing with excitement as many journey to different places for music festivals, the festivities not only include big and sponsored festivals this includes street bashes, family gatherings, weddings whilst others pay lobola and the same time many are sharing groceries and money from their stokvels and societies that they were saving throughout the year.

2017 saw other major music festivals taking place around the country as usual, the prince of Maftown kicked things off with his trademark event titled “FillUp” in Johannesburg were he attempted to #FIllUpFNBStadium with 75 000 people, The Tito Mboweni hit maker had a total of 68 000 tickets sold only falling short of 7000 to fill it up to the targeted number of people.

The North West Province didn’t shy away from being part of the major event hosts with the Mahika Mahikeng which had a Comedy show, a Jazz show, Gospel show, and Hip hop show which saw the Maftown Heights being moved from Johannesburg to Mafikeng, Potchefstroom held the Cheers Closing Party at Trimpark on the second of December brought by GLMK Events Group supported by the rhythm city cast members.
On the 16th of December Potchefstroom also represented with Big Daddy Events at Trimpark with an attendance of 19 244 people, later on the 1st of January 2018 going to Potch Dam with their annual jazz festival. The 4th Tlokwe Chillaz Family Fun Day Get2getha took place the same day at Trimpark on January the 1st 2018, Dj Nation’s birthday bash closed off the December crowd pulling events in the North West Province on the 28 December 2017.

Matlosana “Klerksdorp” was able to pull a crowd with “Simple Things” at Klerksdorp Dam’s water paradise, although the city did not host any major events besides “Simple Things”, however SS Butchery, A6 Chesanyama, Thys Joint, Big Mama, White Jazz place, Swingles Lounge, Club Masenkeng, Busy Corner and So Chilla kept everyone in a festive mood. The beach party in Jouberton at Thys Joint Closed off the festive season in style.
The 2017 festive season came with its fashion, dance style and hit songs, and social media lingo.
