Wolmaranstaad: One of the most happening and viby joints in Wolmaranstaad played host to the most prestigious event so far over at Wollies in 2018, The owner of Survivor Sports Pub Mpho Thekisho welcomed Maklera Magazine with open arms and made us feel at home. The organizer and founder of the peagent Mr Thabo Sekamogeng of TJS Events who holds a Bcom Honours in Strategic Planning Management from the University of Johannesburg joined hands with Blaze SA, Itu luv soul and Phakisa to collaborate and hold a National Pageant that covered The North West Province.

According to the organisers the event is a first in Wolmaranstaad after a very long time hence the organising team said they want to bring such events back to take the youth away from Drugs, Alcohol abuse and Gangsterism. The 24th February 2018 brought TJS Events and Blaze SA closer to what was a dream which they turned into reality. TJS Events partnered with Blaze SA Unique Programme and Projects who is a Dj and a businessman based in Wolmaranstaad, the pair hosted The 1st Annual Mr and Miss Valentines North West which is a platform that looks for ambassadors that can exhibit qualities that will set them apart from the average young man or woman in the street.

The Organisers

The event looks for a person who has superior personal qualities; intelligence, commitment and good communications skills. Someone who can inspire others to be better everyday. A role model figure with a healthy and fit physique. He or She must possess inner power and strength in order to be able to handle conflict and difficult situations in a professional manner.

The crowned winners are expected to possess a great personality, be fun and loving, with a balanced lifestyle and they must also be willing to make a difference in their communities including the rest of country .

The suitable candidates must be able and willing to do community projects and conduct motivational talks to inspire and help the youth. Our aim is to provide each and every contestant with an opportunity to discover their best interest, career choice, to groom and also inspire their peers in the communities they live in and around our Province”, said! Thabo Sekamogeng The Founder of the show who issued  certificates of appreciation to all the contestants who participated in the show.

The Competition was entered by contestants from both Wolmaranstaad and surrounding areas.

The Top-3 winners in the women category are: 2nd Princess Paballo Tladi from Klerksdorp, 1st Princess Lizzy Letlhojane from Makwassie and Queen Makgotso Tladi from Wolmaranstaad, in total there were 15 contestants from North West.

The men’s category: saw Kopano Seokolo from Klerksdorp walk-away the main title as Mr Valentines  and Vinci Naphakade from Wolmaranstaad. Kopano Seokolo says this is his 8th title since he has been in the peagent industry, whilst Makgotso Tladi is a first time constestant.

Thabo Sekamogeng and DJ Blaze explains that the winners of Mr and Miss Valentines North West 2018 will canvas and train other contestants for the next coming events as motivation and to keep the momentum on.

Provincial and National key note speakers Mr Kutlwano Masibi the Community Development Worker at the Office of the Premier North West to came to motivate and provide mentoring to the youth. There were also high profile key people that attended the Event, one being Mr Gaopalelwe  Monnaborwa Principal of Gatelapele Secondary School; Ronny Jonas Municipal Manager of Makwasie Hills Local Municipality, Mokgotsi Khunou Senior Provincial Inspector and Lerato Kgaswane principal Provincial Inspector from Provincial Traffic Department.

Two Sponsorships that came on board for the event are despite at short notice proposal from the organisers: Choppies SA and Jerina Lodge Wolmaransstad.

The show was Choreographed by Takane Ntsoagae from Makwassie.

Lesego Ditlhareng, Sanza Masibi and Lauggy are  events co-ordinators from TJS Events. Blaze Entertainment was represented by Phakisa, Motheo and Mpho.

The hosts

Thuli Seokolo who is the current reigning  Miss Globe South Africa International and Jbee Forest of Mzansi Magic who originates from Mpumalanga were the hosts of the event.

The panel of judges was graced by Kutlwano Masibi, Mazo Mafa Miss Reabona Secondary School together with Zanele Ngcengce and Kegomoditswe Matete who are both professional models.

Guest Celebrity appearance: Phila Mazibuko, Mxolosi known as Zeck from Generations apologized for not showing up at the event.

Well over 400 people attended the event.
