Johannesburg:The hip hop industry is still trying to recover from the shock of Prokid’s untimely death, it is reported in the Sowetan News paper that Linda Mkhize better known as Pro or Prokid, went to visit his friends on Wednesday night when he had a severe seizure, paramedics were called in to rescue him but could not revive the hip hop star, it is said that his death was certified at around 20:38. The family confirmed his passing in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Tributes have been pouring from all over the country from fellow rappers, celebrities and fans alike. The 37 year old has made a name for himself as one of the greatest that the country has given birth to in the hip hop industry.
He released his first album in 2005 titled “Heads and Tails“, that classic album had songs such “Woza ba bona, Celebrate, Ungaphel’ Umoya”, lately Pro has not been on the lime light, fans were excited to see him perform at this year’s “Back To The City Hip Hop Festival” at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Johannesburg. He was also featured on Zakwe’s Sebentin remix track where he killed his verse.
