Jouberton – After weeks of baited breath, and receiving massages from the masses regarding the “Jouberton Logo” concept, the full logo is finally out, the logo is a property of “Maklera Multimedia Events Pty Ltd” a private company specializing in News, Media, Events, Photography, Videography, Entertainment, Social Media Networking and soon to move into fashion.
The logo is a a brainchild of “Motsieng Mooketsi” the founder of Maklera Magazine who was born and raised in Jouberton, partly lived in “Plot 5 in Meiringspark” Mooketsi has fond memories of growing up in this township as it carved him into being what he is and represents today.
“I grew up in the oldest part of the township “Down” in the 90s, before we moved to Ext 10, during those years I went to “Ke Fentse Kalaote Early Childhood Development Centre” well back then they were called pre-schools, then went to Masedi Lower Primary School, after…Itirele Higher Primary and matriculated in Are-Fadimeheng Secondary School“
“For me growing up in Jouberton is the best thing ever because I learned so much in the streets, and moving to Ext 10 which was a gang ridden area, I had to take care of myself and ignore what was happening outside where in there was drugs, violence and gang war and affiliation“.
As a young curious teenager Motsieng Mooketsi discovered a lot of history about Jouberton and Matlosana, history that South Africa is not aware of, this fueled the fire in him to discover more it would also have a lasting impact on how he viewed Klerksdorp and, an unconditional love for Jouberton.
The love birthed a concept of creating something which the people of Jouberton can identify with…the logo was the ultimate concept, and it dates back more than 10 years ago.
The logo depicts the landmarks of Jouberton which can be seen from different photographic angles, views and directions when you are in, moving around, out or entering Jouberton.
