Despite measures by government to assist, many people feel that more should be done, in some communities business people have also come to the rescue of the needy.
Yesterday MEC Moiloa of the Department of Social Development visited Jouberton in Ward 05 and Ward 37 respectively to give food hampers to some needy families.
One community member saw an article on the Department of Social Development’s facebook page earlier today claiming a visit to the Ratanang Informal settlement and reciprocating the same deed as in Jouberton.
In a post on facebook – a resident from Jacaranda rubbished the article, which was later clarified by; Councillor Letlhogonolo Molefi of ward 05 as a lie, the councillor confirmed the visitation of the MEC however slammed the handing out of food parcels to the community of Jacaranda.
In other developments about the situation of the people of Ratanang a source called us in verifying that indeed the article is a lie and that there have been attempts to engage the departments to assist the people of Jacaranda in the midst of this lockdown and promises have not been kept 8 days later.
